Nestled on the eucalypt slopes of Mt Macedon is a truly remarkable oasis of beauty. The Gardens of Tieve Tara is a privately-owned garden that opens to the public for all of Spring and Autumn.
The gardens undulate across 7.5 acres of sweeping lawns, tranquil lakes and diverse garden beds filled with vibrant seasonal colours. Chooks, geese and ducks roam free around the magnificent grounds, which are suitable for young and old alike. Bring a picnic and meet with friends or enjoy the peaceful ambience while sitting on the rolling lawns under a tree with a good book.
While wandering the gardens of Tieve Tara you can watch the birds frolic around two lakes; one arched by a Monet style bridge, and the other ladened with water lilies. Wander through the stunning perennial walk, sit down under the romantic rose arbour, discover a variety of beautiful flowers or explore ‘treasure island’, where a cubby house, slide and sand pit sit among a fern glade.
