The skies around Corowa are perfect for gliding with many clear days throughout the year. The Australian Soaring Centre is in a class of its own. Come out and watch the gliders take off and fly around the countryside or, for those a little braver, enquire about going up yourself.
Since 2001, they have been one of the ultimate soaring centres in Australia with a variety of gliders available for hire. A world class venue, with regular visitors from Europe and all around Australia.
Why glide at Corowa? It is a safe airfield without high objects such as power lines and is excellent and well maintained with wide concrete and grass runways. No rice or big irrigation and they are located close to the mountains. Thermal conditions start up to 1.5 hours earlier than at other sites. Easy, land-able paddocks from the airfield up to 1,000 kilometres north....
